KKU Scholarship for ASEAN and GMS Countries

Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

Be a citizen of ASEAN or GMS countries (including Yunnan and Guangxi of China).

Be under 40 years old at the time of application.

Hold a bachelor’s degree for master’s level or both bachelor’s and master’s degrees for doctoral level.

Demonstrate English proficiency (see English requirements below).

Be in good physical and mental health.

Meet all admission requirements for the chosen program at Khon Kaen University.

English Proficiency Requirements:

Master’s Level: Minimum TOEFL (400), IELTS (5.0), TU-GET, CU-TEP, or equivalent.

Doctoral Level: Mandatory—applications without English test results will not be considered.

Test results must not exceed two years from the test date.

Required Documents

All documents must be in English:

Completed application form with a photo.

Academic transcripts (for bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees).

Degree certificates issued by the institution.

English proficiency test results.

Two recommendation letters from a lecturer, advisor, or workplace supervisor.

Passport copy or English translation of birth certificate/ID card.

Medical certificate (dated after November 1, 2024).

Criminal clearance certificate (translated into English).

Financial support documents (if applicable).

MOU copy (if applying through a partner institution).

Professional training certificates (if any).

Note: Applicants must sign and verify all document copies.

Benefit: "Type 1: Full Scholarship Tuition fee waiver (up to 280,000 THB/year). Accommodation and living allowance: 120,000 THB/year. Research or thesis allowance: 18,000 THB/year. Travel expenses. Visa extension fee: Up to 6,000 THB. Type 2: Partial Scholarship From KKU’s Budget: Accommodation and living allowance: 120,000 THB/year. Travel expenses. Visa extension fee: Up to 6,000 THB. From External Organizations’ Budget: Tuition fee waiver. Research or thesis allowance: 18,000 THB/year. Type 3: Combined Funding From KKU’s Budget and Faculty’s Budget: Accommodation and living allowance: 120,000 THB/year. Research or thesis allowance: 18,000 THB/year. Travel expenses. Note: Health insurance and accident insurance are not included. Recipients must secure valid insurance before enrollment."
