Thai Pipe Scholarships – Master’s Program

Requirement:

This scholarship is for the following academic programs:

  1. Water Engineering and Management;
  2. Environmental Engineering and Management;
  3. Natural Resources Management;
  4. AgriBusiness Management;
  5. Agricultural Systems & Engineering;
  6. Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management;
  7. Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Management.


Eligibility

All nationalities: preferably ASEAN, Central Asia, Pacific Islands countries;

With at least 2 years work experience in the Water-related field from the government sector;

Graduate of Bachelor in Civil Engineering or related fields with a GPA 3.00;

English Proficiency: IELTS-Academic or AIT EET score above 5.0;

Must fulfill the AIT admissions requirements.

Benefit: Coverage The scholarship covers tuition and registration fees. Other fees and living costs are to be borne by the student or another external donor.

Royal Thai Government Scholarships

Requirement:

Eligibility



  • Nationality: Thai and Indian (Assam State)
  • Will study Master’s degree program in School of Engineering and Technology (SET)
  • Condition for the continuation to the 2nd semester: The student should obtain a CGPA – 3.0 in the 1st semester to avail the scholarship for the 2nd semester.
  • In a scenario, after 1st semester, if the student cannot meet the required threshold for CGPA, then the remaining 12 credits of the existing student, will be given to a new student for the upcoming semester.
  • Must fulfill the AIT Admissions Requirements.

Benefit: His Majesty the King’s Scholarships for Doctoral Programs Coverage Each scholarship award covers tuition, registration fees, accommodation, and a bursary for living expenses in AIT’s residential campus for the entire period of the 41-month (7-semester) duration for Ph.D. programs. The value of the non-binding Scholarship per student is approximately 1.96 MB. Loom Nam Khong Pijai (GMS Scholarships) for Master’s Programs Coverage Each scholarship award covers tuition fees, accommodation, and a bursary for living expenses in AIT’s residential campus, for the entire period of the 22-month master degree program. The value of the non-binding Scholarship per student is approximately 1.10 MB.

Japanese Government Scholarships

Requirement:

The Government of Japan is offering Doctoral scholarships in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (or) Mechatronics and Machine Intelligence of the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) from the following priority countries.


Nationalities

  1. Southeast Asia: Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia
  2. South Asia: Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Bhutan and Sri Lanka


Eligibility

  • Have strong academic records (both undergraduate and graduate) and normally hold a four-year Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree, preferably with a combination of course and thesis work, from an institution of good standing, acceptable to AIT. The minimum GPA requirement for admission to the Doctoral program is 3.50 or equivalent at the Master’s degree level.
  • Submit a brief outline of the dissertation research proposal, including the required research facilities, if necessary.

Chinese Government Scholarships

Requirement:

Eligibility and Scholarship Criteria

  • Applicants must be citizens and permanent residents of the People’s Republic of China at the time of application;
  • Applicants must not be currently working or studying abroad;
  • The scholarship awardees must return to China upon the completion of their studies and/or research;
  • Applicants are encouraged to obtain information about AIT’s admissions requirement and admissions procedure. All Applicants should submit their application for AIT programs and obtain a non-conditional or a conditional admissions letter. Doctoral applicants must receive a written confirmation from AIT that an AIT faculty member is available and willing to supervise them;
  • All academic areas of AIT are eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants must satisfy the selection criteria set out by CSC at and strictly follow the schedule of the application, by completing the CSC Application Form and the CSC Employer Reference Form before 31 March every year.

Benefit: The Scholarships are set up and directed by the Agreement between China Scholarship Council (CSC), Ministry of Education, China and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The CSC Scholarships include the tuition fee, registration fee and research fee, the visa application fee, a living stipend (health insurance included), and one return international airfare to China by the most economical route. The funding for each PhD program awardee will be up to 48 months. The funding for each Master’s degree program awardee will be up to 24 months. CSC and AIT support the following areas of study with priority: Engineering, Technology, and Management.

Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP)

Requirement:

Eligibility

A national of an ADB borrowing member country (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB are not eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship)

A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic record.

At least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree) at a time of application.

Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies.

Not more than 35 years old at the time of application. In exceptional cases, for programs which are appropriate for senior officials and managers, the age limit is 45 years old.

In good health.

Should agree to return to his/her home county after completion of studies under the Program.

Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and relatives of the aforementioned are not eligible for the Scholarship.

Staff of AIT are not eligible for the Scholarship.

Applicants living or working in a country other than his/her home country are not eligible for the scholarships.

ADB-JSP does not support applicants who are already enrolled in graduate degree programs.

ADB-JSP does not sponsor undergraduate studies, distance learning programs, short-term training, conferences, seminars, thesis writing, and research projects.


Selection Criteria

Priority to the ranking, or order of merit, proposed by AIT.

Applicants with less than two years of work experience will not be selected.

Preference to women candidates.

Preference to applicants with lesser financial capacity. Family income should be not more than USD 50,000 per year and individual income should not be more than USD 25,000 per year.

The Program will, in principle, not support applicants who have previously studied abroad.

The Program will, in principle, not support applicants who are pursuing a second MA.

Candidates who are applying at Designated Institute (DI) in their own country may not be selected.

Diversification of nationality in the overall Program as well as at each DI level will be considered.

The Program encourages studies in line with core areas of ADB’s Strategy 2020, which address poverty reduction through infrastructure, environment, regional cooperation and integration, finance sector development, and education. Strategy 2020, ADB’s strategy, sets ADB’s strategic course for its operations to the year 2020.

Thesis/Research Allowance is intended to cover the scholar’s research expenditures and can be used for such expenditure items as photocopying, school supplies, typing and computer charges, postage, communications, binding charges, local travel costs and accommodation for out-of-town trips. (a flat allowance) 10. Scholars are expected to have sufficient skills in language and computer to undertake their study program. However, in special cases where additional training is deemed necessary, expenditures incurred to improve language proficiency and computer literacy may be covered under the scholarship (actual costs). 11. The ADB-JSP does not cover: expenses for the scholar family; extra-curricular courses or training; additional travel during the course of study program; additional expenses related to supplementary educational materials, field trips, or participation in workshops, seminars, or internships while at the DI or purchase of educational equipment such as computers.

Alumni Scholarship Fund

AIT Scholarships

Requirement:

Eligibility

1. All nationalities;

2. Meeting AIT’s English Proficiency Requirement (i.e. IELTS-Academic or AIT EET score of 5.0 or above for Master’s and 5.5 for Doctoral program);

3. Having a four‐year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university;

4. Having a master’s degree from a recognized university for Ph.D. applicants and should have a Cumulative GPA of 3.50 in their Master’s degree and 2.75 in their undergraduate program from top universities.

Benefit: AIT Scholarships is a form of financial aid that provides an opportunity for admissible students from all over the world to study together at AIT. It helps subsidize part of the study cost by covering full, or a portion of, tuition for qualified students while the students are responsible for the rest of the tuition, the registration fees (20,000 Baht per semester to maintain student status) and the living expenses (around 11,500‐15,000 Baht per month). Each school has its Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will propose the value of AIT Scholarships grant for each applicant (if eligible) for approval by the School Dean. This AIT Scholarships grant can only be given once before the enrollment and cannot be changed over the entire study period.

AAPICO Public Company Limited Master’s Scholarship with Job Offer

Requirement:

This scholarship is for the School of Engineering & Technology (SET) either in Department of Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE), Department of Information Communications and Technologies (preferably in Data Science & AI, IoT programs) or School of Management in Business Analytic & Digital Transformation program.


Eligibility

2. Graduate of Bachelor with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75

3. English Proficiency Requirement: AIT-English Entry Test (AIT-EET):6 or IELTS-Academic:6 (writing 6)

4. The applicant must fulfill the AIT Entry Requirements.

5. Applicant must maintain cGPA 3.25 or higher during his/ her study in order to retain AAPICO Scholarship.

AIT-BNU-Thai Pipe PhD Scholarship

Requirement:

Eligibility

1. Nationality: Myanmar, Laos PDR, Cambodia, Vietnam and China (only from Yunnan Province);

2. First-class (honours) Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees or equivalent (Master GPA above 3.50 out of 4.0) in civil engineering, water resources engineering, environmental engineering, or water related applied sciences

AIT Alumni Association (AITAA) Malaysia Chapter scholarship

Requirement:

Canada- Myanmar IDRC Fellowship

Requirement:

For both the certificate program and one-year master’s program scholarship, applicants need to apply for the Gender and Development Studies (GDS) under the Department of Development and Sustainability, School of Environment, Resources and Development, to be eligible for this scholarship.
