ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

EP, Thailand's pioneering Engineering double degree program, presents students with an exceptional chance to immerse themselves in multicultural encounters while obtaining two degrees simultaneously. This involves completing all mandatory courses during the initial two years at TSE, followed by the subsequent two years at one of our esteemed international partner universities abroad. Students have three options for completing the final 2 years, with the following choices available:

  • The University of Nottingham, in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), earned the 7th spot in the UK for its research prowess, as documented by Times Higher Education (THE). According to THE's assessment, the university's research holds international acclaim, with 90% of it being classified as 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent'. Furthermore, their independent evaluation of the REF results showed that 51% of their research was rated 'world-leading' for its impact. In the QS Graduate Employability Rankings of 2022, the University of Nottingham achieved a global ranking of 66th and secured the 10th position in the UK for employability. An impressive feat is being the second most sought-after institution by top employers in the UK, as highlighted in The Graduate Market Report for 2023 by High Fliers Research. Moreover, in the QS World University Rankings of 2024, the university clinched the =100th position globally and holds the 17th rank among UK educational institutions.

  • The University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia is a prominent research institution within the Group of Eight (Go8) coalition, currently ranked 19th in the QS World University Ranking 2024, and distinguished by its consistently high performance in graduate employability. Among its notable alumni are figures like Scott Morrison, the 30th Prime Minister of Australia, Mike Cannon-Brookes, CEO of Atlassian, and Michael Collins, a Canadian structural engineer, among others. UNSW's reputation extends beyond rankings, as it is celebrated for its groundbreaking interdisciplinary research in fields such as inequality and climate change. Graduates of UNSW benefit from strong industry ties, exposure to world-renowned academics and practitioners, and the acquisition of valuable skills and experiences.

  • KU Leuven, ranked 45th in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, maintains its position as the top-ranked university in Belgium and the Benelux region, as well as the 12th best university in Europe. THE's rankings take into account various performance indicators, with teaching and research holding the most weight. KU Leuven's performance remains steady, excelling in research-related metrics and demonstrating robust connections to industry, as reflected in its impressive scores for industry income and patents.

Thammasat University (TU) is the second oldest university in Thailand, teaching more than 33,000 students and employing more than 2,700 academic staff. Inaugurated in 1934 with social science and humanities to serve society’s thirst for modern knowledge, it is known as “the university for the people” and has since expanded its remit to include science, technology, and health.

Thammasat places an emphasis on sustainability by teaching the humanities, social sciences and STEM subjects in an environment that aims to create a “smart university”. This goal is being reached by introducing energy saving and renewable measures on campus, and by creating and implementing new technology that is environmentally friendly.

As Thailand shifts its political agendas towards meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Thammasat University has become central to coordinating research and policy while helping to prioritise the country’s social mobility.

Thammasat is the first university in Thailand who has received an award on “Cultural Change for Sustainability” for its campaign to reduce single-use plastics from the International Sustainability Campus Network (ISCN) during the 2020 ISCN Awards Ceremony on 14th May, 2020. Thammasat is leading by example in setting its own targets to become a fully sustainable “smart university”.

Thammasat University, by Faculty of Economics, is also a co-host of Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Thailand (SDSN Thailand) from March 2020 until February 2022.
