ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
The Faculty of Religious Studies offers a full-time bachelor’s degree in the International program: B.A. in Christian Studies. In this program, students will study Applied Theology as an emphasis.
Over the four-year program, Applied Theology majors will be trained for local church leadership and pastoral ministry, as well as teaching in the area of religion. Through biblical/theological, pastoral and spiritual curriculum framework with integrated ministerial practical training (MPT), students of this program will have a strong academic foundation balanced by the aptitude for understanding and empathizing with people from all strata of society. Above all, Applied Theology majors are expected to manifest in their words and actions a commitment to religious principles and high ethical standards befitting persons who have accepted the high calling of service for God and humanity.
With the Applied Theology emphasis, the Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies program is designed:
To prepare students for pastoral positions and other ministerial services within the organization of the Seventh-day Adventist church.
To provide students with a broad foundation of religious knowledge as an integral part of the ethos of the institution.
To provide a foundation for later specialized or graduate studies.
