The Department of Mining and Petroleum Engineering offers a Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) Program in Georesources and Petroleum Engineering to Thai and foreign students, using English as the language of instruction.
The master's program is designed for students holding either a B.Eng. or B.Sc. in related disciplines. The program will serve both academic and industrial demands for highly competent engineers who can conduct both scientific and engineering investigations to solve various problems related to mineral and petroleum resources as well as resources recovery and recycling.
The curriculum operates on a semester system, providing an extensive study in georesources and petroleum engineering which emphasizes on technologies and advanced researches in the following three disciplines:
Mining Engineering : a branch of engineering discipline dealing with sustainable raw materials production from the mineral deposits and mineral processing technologies to maximize the value of minerals extracted from the mines. The curriculum also offers mine design and operation.
Resources Recycling Engineering : a branch of engineering discipline connecting sustainable resources management, including materials and metal separation technology and waste management.
Petroleum Engineering : a branch of engineering discipline connecting with the subsurface activities related to the production of hydrocarbons, either crude oil or natural gas.

Admission and Requirements
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or science or currently study in the final academic year of the program.
Applicants who have a diploma or equivalent with a continuing study of a 2-year bachelor's degree program must present the transcript of the diploma or equivalent with the application documents. However, the application must be approved by the program committee.

Together with the application form, each applicant must submit the following documents to the Department of Mining and Petroleum Engineering:
Statement of purpose;
A copy of identification card/passport;
A 1-inch-color picture of the applicant;
Minimum CUTEP score of 45 * or equivalent English test scores from accepted institutions (TOEFL, IELTS). Visit the Chulalongkorn University Academic Testing Center's website for details;
Three letters of recommendation; and
A certified copy of the transcript.
Each year, our graduates obtain positions in related government agencies, universities as well as research institutes, consultancy, oil and gas business, mining operations, and resources management section. The job responsibilities are varied depending on the chosen discipline of each student. Job locations can also vary among offshore, onshore, mining areas, urban areas and could be either in Thailand or aboard.
