Doctor of Dental Surgery

This program is conducted in two stages:

Preclinical Phase – A two year program, which covers Medical Science courses (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Dental Courses (Professional Development and IT, Oral Biology, Society and Health, Preventive Dentistry, Dental Public Health, Dental Materials and Dental Technology). The latter is designed to help the students learn about the technical aspects of the dental program. Assessments take place in every semester along with yearly professional examinations.

Clinical Phase – This phase covers the next three years of study. In this phase, integrated teaching and learning process is undertaken to expose the students to dental clinical work and it also helps them to learn about community dentistry. This program offers the students with the opportunity to enhance their critical thinking skills and acquire knowledge about a particular discipline of dentistry through research exercise, which is of interest to them. It includes subjects, such as Preventive Dentistry and Dental Public Health, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Conservative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontology, Orthodontics, Paediatric Dentistry, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine, Dental Imaging, Endodontics and Dental Research. Students of this program, will also be exposed to medical subjects namely; General Medicine and General Surgery for better treatment of patients with chronic illness, who may require special needs as far as dental treatment is concerned.

1. Application Form: Students must fill out an application form available at the Admission Office or apply online via the official Lincoln University College website.
2. Documents Submission: Submit the completed application form along with required documents such as certified true copies of academic transcripts and certificates, a photocopy of IC or passport, passport-sized color photographs, proof of English proficiency, health and medical certificate, statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation depending on the program.
3. Application Fee Payment: A crossed cheque, money order, or bank draft for the first payment is to be submitted with the application or after receiving the offer.
4. Offer Letter: After review, the university sends an offer letter for admission that the student should keep.
5. Tuition Fee Payment: Pay the first-year fees after visa approval but before arrival in Malaysia. Full first-year fees payment is required for international students.
6. Student Visa: Apply for a student visa for Malaysia after payment.
7. Arrival: Once the visa is obtained, students can arrange their travel to Malaysia.

2. Dental Officer in the Malaysian Armed Forces
3. Dental Officer in other government agencies
4. Dentist in private or public dental clinics
5. Lecturer or Professor in universities or institutions
6. Researcher in research centers
7. Research or Technical Expert in corporate agencies
8. Registered Dentist with the Malaysian Dental Council (after completing the two-year compulsory service for Malaysian citizens)
