The Doctor of Communication Arts Program in Global Communication (International Program) is a collaborative effort between Bangkok University and the School of Communication Studies at Ohio University, established in 1995. The curriculum has been modernized to address exponential digital growth and the complex social and economic landscape of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and its global partners.

- Must be paid by Cashier’s Check, issued by a bank, made payable to “ Bangkok University.”
- A copy of your transcript from your present university/higher education institution with course descriptions. Original transcripts and course descriptions with translations from credible organizations are required.
- A letter of recommendation (For scholarship application only)
- A copy of your TOEFL score with a minimum score of 500 (paper-based) or 61 (internet-based); or IELTS score with a score of no less than 5.0 in all bands (waived for native speakers of English)
- A portfolio (For Computer Graphics and Multimedia Major Only)
- For any certificates or transcripts not written in English or Thai, please also submit an English translation certified by the educational institution.
- Qualification
- For those who have completed high school in the ordinary or vocational stream or its equivalent from an education institution under the Ministry of Education’s recognition:
- Admission Criteria for International Programs
- 1. Applicants meeting the following qualifications will be exempted from the written test and foundational study:
- IB diploma holders with a minimum grade of 4 in 5 subjects. IGCSE, GCSE, or GCE 'O' level certificate holders with a minimum of 5 subjects and passing GCE 'A' level in 3 subjects with a total of 8 subjects. Grades must not be lower than C. GED scores of 720 or above for the new system or 3,600 or above for the old system. 2. Applicants with English language proficiency test scores meeting the specified criteria (scores valid for up to 2 years) will be exempted from the written test and foundational study: TOEFL 500 (Paper-Based), 173 (Computer-Based), 61 (Internet-Based) IELTS 5.0 overall and in all skills SAT 1,000 in both critical reading and mathematics sections Duolingo English Test (DET) 80 in all sub-scores Pearson Test of English (PTE) at least 43 scores BU Placement Test (BU Test)
- 3. Applicants without English proficiency test scores or eligible exemptions must take the BU Placement Tests for written evaluation.
- 4. Applicants with qualifications equivalent to high school completion both domestically and internationally must undergo the written test according to the university's regulations.
- 5. For applicants without English proficiency scores or those who do not wish to take the BU Placement Tests, the Preparatory English Course is available. Upon meeting the university's specified criteria, students can enroll in international programs at Bangkok University.
- 2. International program starting from academic year 2025 onwards Required Documents

- Completed high school education or equivalent from an institution accredited by the Thai Ministry of Education Completed high school education or equivalent with a foreign qualification according to the announcement of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand. Admission Criteria for International Programs Qualifications for Applicants Exempted from Submitting English Proficiency Test Scores and Taking Preparatory English Courses - IB Diploma Course Results (IBCR) holders with a minimum grade of 4 in 5 subjects. - Passing GCE 'A' level in 3 subjects with a total of 8 subjects. Grades must not be lower than C. - GED scores of 720 or above for the new system or 3,600 or above for the old system. - BTEC Level 3 Higher National Diploma - Applicants who hold American, Australian, British, Canadian, Irish, New Zealand, and South African nationalities. Applicants with English language proficiency test scores meeting the specified criteria (scores valid for up to 2 years) will be exempted from the written test and foundational study: - TOEFL iBT score of at least 61 or 500 (Paper-Based) or 173 (Computer-Based) - IELTS score of at least 5.0 in all bands - SAT score of at least 500 in both Verbal and Math - PTE score of at least 43 - Duolingo score of at least 80 in all skills - TU-GET Computer-based score of at least 61 or Paper-based score of at least 500 - CU-TEP score of at least 70 - British Council EnglishScore of at least 400 - BU Placement Test Online score of at least 35 or Paper-based score of at least 60 Applicants without English proficiency test scores or eligible exemptions must take the BU Placement Tests for written evaluation.
