About this Program
This Ph.D. in ELT Program prepares graduates who are competent in exercising a full range of research skills, knowledgeable about contemporary developments in English Language Teaching in relation to the wider academic, business, and socio-cultural communities in Asia, committed to continued professional development in the context of the growth of English in society, and able to integrate their research and other contributions into the cultures of their institutions and societies. Research interests include classroom teaching, second language acquisition, learning motivation, learner autonomy, English as a lingua franca, English for specific purposes, course design and development, teaching education, discourse analysis, multimodality, materials development and evaluation, sociolinguistics, and world Englishes. Applicants are required to submit a research proposal that states a clear aim, outlines the research background with references, describes the intended methodology, and includes a list of works cited following APA 7th edition style.

Academic

- 3. Bachelor and Master's degree certificate (1 copy)
- 4. Citizen identification card and house registration (1 copy) - for Thai applicants
- 5. Passport (1 copy) - for Non-Thai applicants
- 6. One (1x1.5 inches) photograph (formal attire, not in graduation gown)
- 7. A research proposal specifying an area of interest in education.
- Applicants who are graduates from overseas Universities will be required to provide at the time of applying and not later, certified, attested, or notarized by competent notaries, all academic documents with the seal or stamp by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education or related department.
- QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION
- Master's degree in any related discipline from an accredited university with a GPA not less than 3.0 or work experiences of at least 2 years in a field related to the use of English.

- • AU English Proficiency Test • Interview Entrance Examination
- EXEMPTION
- The AU English Proficiency Test can be exempted depending on which of the following conditions that you satisfy. • a TOEFL score of (iBT) 90 or an IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6.5 (Validation: Two years) • a Bachelor's degree from native English speaking countries (USA, Canada, UK, New Zealand and Australia)
